These top 3 garden tips will come in handy for every gardener every where, no matter what you are growing.

Check the weather – Common sense, but still, how many times have you watered your garden only to have it rain shortly after? Why waste water when you can check the weather online and save yourself some precious time!

Do you have dirt buried underneath you nails? do you hate wearing gloves?
Then do what Sophia Loren does … She would scratch a bar of soap with hers nails. The soap will prevent dirt from getting stuck under your nails and make clean up much easier. Use a nailbrush to remove the soap and your nails will be sparkling clean.

What’s the quickest way to dry herbs?
The quickest way in the world to dry herbs: just lay a sheet of newspaper on the seat of your car, arrange the herbs in a single layer, then roll up the windows and close the doors. Your herbs will be quickly dried to perfection. What’s more, your car will smell great too.

RECAP of the top 3 gardening tips

1 – Check the weather online to save time from watering if rain is in the forecast.
2 – Scrape some soap under nails and watch your nails sparkle after gardening.
3 – Dry your herbs herb drying rack quickly on a single layer of newspaper in your car.

I dare you to name one gardener who doesn’t water their plants, get dirt under their nails or doesn’t grow some kind of herbs. 🙂

  • I love the soap tip! Hey, if it’s good enough for Sophia Loren, it’s good enough for me. Also, I completely agree with your tip about rain. Here in the Midwest, we tend to focus on the weather a lot during the growing season. There’s no need to drag out the hose when nature will do it for you! Plus, if you over-water too many times, it can cause mold on your plants. Not good.

  • Just stopping by again to say: I thought of you last weekend as I scraped my fingernails into a bar of soap before digging into the dirt. My husband thought I was a little crazy, but it worked! Your tips have definitely changed the way I garden. 🙂

  • Thanks for the update, nice to see you again!
